For sale in our Tampa showroom is a classic 1967 Volkswagon Beetle Convertible. The Beetle is the longest running and most manufactured car of a single design platform worldwide. This little beige beauty convertible is original paint and interior and has less than 20,000 original actual miles. This Beetle has a very peppy little 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine and a smooth shifting 4 speed manual transmission. Exterior color on this Beetle is a nice Beige with black and chrome accents and is complimented very nicely by the black vinyl interior. The car was designed to be as simple as possible mechanically, so that there was less to go wrong; the air-cooled motors proved especially effective in actions of the German Afrika Korps in Africa's desert heat. This was due to the built-in oil cooler and the superior performance of the flat four engine configuration. The suspension design used compact torsion bars instead of coil or leaf springs. The Beetle is nearly airtight and will float for a few minutes on water.
