1970  Volkswagen  Camper  
I am helping my friend sell her Grandfather’s 1970 VW camper. The camper was purchased by S.B. Vaughters. Mr. Vaughters was the last farmer in DeKalb County. Mr. Vaughters purchased his farm in 1946 and remained there until he sold it in 2005 to the state of Georgia for green space. He owned the Vaughters farm that was located in Lithonia GA. When he moved his Granddaughter inherited the camper and had plans to restore it. She has now decided to sell the camper. Many years ago the engine was rebuilt and the clutch replaced. This camper has been sitting for a few years but is cranked from time to time and it runs nicely. The van is pretty much all original it has 96,000 original miles on it. Mr. Vaughters was an avid bluegrass fan, and would always take this camper on trips to hear bluegrass performances all over the south. Mr. Vaughters held numerous careers
over the years including teaching, farming, raising cattle, Insurance , and also Real Estate. This camper does have surface rust and could really use a good paint job it is black and cream and was his pride and joy. Mr. Vaughters owned numerous VW’s over the years but this was his last pride and joy. However this camper needs to be enjoyed by someone that will use it. She is asking 5500 for the camper. The interior is in good condition it has the sink and refrigerator stand although the spicket is missing we are not sure if the refrigerator works properly or not. It has the electrical hook up and the pop-up top. Now is your chance to own a piece of Georgia History we have the insurance cards that shows Mr. Vaughters name on it to prove he owned it.
