I am selling a very clean running 1956 VW Single Cab.

I bought the single cab from Drew Colome in 2005. I have added accessories, upgraded the engine, transmission, rebuilt front suspension, and added CSP disc brakes. The engine is a full flow 1776cc with oil cooler under the stuck. The dual carburetor is a stock Solex H40/44EIS with Kadron air cleaner. The engine was built by Tim Caves in Tujunga, CA. There are two batteries in the engine compartment with automatic battery switch. The reason why I have two batteries is because I tow a vintage German trailer that runs power from the secondary battery. The transmission was also replaced when the engine was installed. The transmission is a big nut with freeway flyer. Both have 5,137 miles on it.

The front suspension was rebuilt by Old Speed in Orange County, CA. I installed the front disc brakes made by CSP for towing purpose. The hoop frames are original and the canvas cover is a reproduction. Made by Busware. The roof rack is a production rack made by Eyeorack. I have added many accessories on the truck as you can see on the photos. The tires are like new and are a radial for better traction.

The body is not perfect like a show car. The body is pretty much straight and do have some bondos in some area. There is some bubble rust in the front nose which is very common. The bodywork and paint was done by Drew Colome before I bought the truck from him. Overall it’s a great running truck and ready for towing. The hitch is very strong and “Westfalia” reproduction made.

If the truck is sold in California and the California license plates goes with the truck. If the truck is sold out of California, I will keep the license plates, and license plate frames.

You can call me at 805-296-7366 or text me at 805-423-9454. I will ship worldwide but you will be responsible to have the truck and trailer picked up at my house. I will not transport them out of my property due to damages during transporting.

I have 76 photos of the truck.
